Why I care about effective communication?
I care about effective communication because I have experienced the consequences of what happens when it falls short, and witnessed the impact of when it’s done well. I’ve seen how unclear or poorly handled conversations can quietly erode trust, strain relationships, and weaken workplace culture.
To me, effective communication is not always about having the right words, but about presence, deep listening, and the courage to engage when it matters the most.
My Journey
I didn’t arrive at this work through a single epiphany; I arrived through years of listening, vulnerability and noticing how communication often sits at the centre of both struggle and growth.
By chance, I found myself in a two-day intensive Communicate Powerfully workshop where it all clicked into place. It was practical, honest, and deeply human, and it became clear that this was the work I was meant to be doing.
My Experience
Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked across teaching in adult education, management in corporate sales environments, and nationwide training roles within the hospitality industry. I have also coached in a range of settings and competed at a high level in sport.
